A bus accident occurred in central Vietnam in the early hours of the 25th, resulting in 10 deaths.
According to Vietnamese authorities, the vehicle involved was an overnight sleeper bus traveling from Hanoi to the central city of Da Nang. The bus suddenly veered off the national highway, hit a roadside signpost, and overturned.
The accident caused 10 deaths, including two children, all of whom were Vietnamese. Another 12 people were injured and taken to the hospital.
According to official media reports, five of the victims were domestic tourists heading to Da Nang for vacation.
One passenger told the media: “The bus flipped over... I couldn’t even sit up, my body and hands hit the edge of the bed.”
He said several of the dead and seriously injured were sleeping in the bunks at the front of the bus and “suffered a strong impact.”
A week prior to the accident, a boat capsized in Ha Long Bay, causing the deaths of 38 Vietnamese tourists and crew, with only 10 survivors. Rescuers are still searching for one missing person.
