According to ABC News, the North Carolina Highway Patrol received a report that around 2 p.m. on the 7th, a small plane had crashed near Sanford Raleigh Executive Airport. The patrol stated that four passengers were found at the crash site, with three pronounced dead at the scene and one later declared dead after being rushed to the hospital.
The patrol officer revealed that the four victims were members of the same family: the Buchanan couple, both aged 35, and their children, 10-year-old Aubrey and 9-year-old Walker.
