In Hangzhou, China, a Labrador weighing 128 jin (64 kilograms) was lying in the middle of the road when it was run over by a car. The dog's owner thought it was hopeless, but after being rushed to the animal hospital, it turned out the dog was completely unharmed, thanks to a 'layer of fat' protecting it. However, the doctor advised that the dog needs to lose weight.
According to Chinese media reports, the incident occurred on Thursday (2nd) in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, where a 64kg dog named 'Yuanyuan' was resting by the roadside. When a car approached, it didn’t move away, and due to a blind spot, a driver failed to notice it and ran the car directly over its body.
Surveillance footage shows 'Yuanyuan' lying in the middle of the road, resting, when a black sedan, while reversing, did not notice the dog and ran over it with the right front wheel. The dog was immediately pinned under the tire and kept howling in pain, so the driver, realizing what had happened, dared not move the car any further.
Neighbors nearby, upon hearing the dog’s cries, rushed over to help, and a group of people worked together to lift the car and rescue 'Yuanyuan'.
The owner initially thought the dog was seriously injured and would die from its wounds, so hurried it to the animal hospital for examination. The hospital immediately took it for an X-ray.
Amazingly, all of the dog's indicators were normal. The doctor, however, earnestly remarked: 'The dog is fine, no broken bones, no internal bleeding, but… it needs to lose weight!' This made the owner, who had been crying, burst into laughter, exclaiming that being fat actually had its advantages!
