2025 International Chinese Day HSK Short Video Competition Kicks Off

(City, 7th) To celebrate the 2025 International Chinese Day and respond to the initiative by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education of China (referred to as CLEC), themed “Chinese: A Gift Across Time and Space,” the event explores the innovative development of the Chinese language in the digital era and assists global Chinese learners in sharing future opportunities. Hanban International, in collaboration with Tsinghua University Southeast Asia Center, Fudan University's Hanban International Chinese Education Test Innovation Research Base, and domestic and international colleges, universities, and HSK test centers organize the "Sharing a Wise Future with HSK" Chinese short video collection activity.
Eligibility:
Open to all Chinese learners whose first language is not Chinese and international Chinese teachers worldwide, regardless of nationality or region. Participation can be organized in the name of schools or institutions.
Registration:
Please register online and upload your video work through the event registration website https://hskicld.aki.com.cn/. If you encounter problems during the upload process or have other queries, please contact by email: tougao@chinesetest.cn.
Content Required:
1. Chinese, giving me infinite possibilities for the future. For example, through HSK exams, studying in China, participating in Chinese-related work, etc.
2. Chinese learning stories. For example, learning Chinese with AI, learning techniques, challenges and gains, etc.
3. My perspective on China’s technology. For instance, high-speed rail, drones, robots, AI technology, smart home, etc.
4. Chinese talent showcase and explanation. For example, Chinese songs/dance/theatre/musical instruments/painting/tea art/dialects, etc.
5. Stories of innovation in Chinese teaching. For example, international Chinese teachers sharing innovative teaching practices, the application of AIGC tools, teaching insights, etc.
Event Timeline:
Submissions:
From now until May 31st, please submit video works during this period.
Preliminary Review:
June 1st to June 30th, 2025
Basic review and screening, including checking if the theme and content of the work are engaging and if the images, techniques, and transitions are smooth.
Online Voting:
July 1st to July 30th, 2025.
Videos that pass the preliminary review will be available for 30-day online voting on bilibili (account: HSK Chinese Proficiency Test) and YouTube (account: HSK Official).
Expert Evaluation:
July 1st to July 30th, 2025. Relevant experts will be invited to evaluate the videos that pass the preliminary review.
Announcement of Winners and Award Ceremony:
From August to September 2025, the awards will be determined based on a combined score (50% online votes and 50% expert evaluations), with certificates and prizes awarded, and an award ceremony held.
Work Requirements:
1. Submissions must be made in personal capacity, with each person limited to one submission.
2. There is no limit to the number of submissions in the name of schools or institutions.
3. Must align with the theme, with no restrictions on the form; speeches, recitations, stand-up, performances, calligraphy, etc. are all acceptable.
4. Video narration and subtitles must be in Chinese, with a duration of 1-3 minutes.
5. Video format must be HD MP4, with file size between 10MB and 500MB.
6. Video should be clean and free from corner marks, station logos, watermarks, or logos.
7. Videos recorded on phones should be shot in landscape orientation, using the rear camera, and maintain stability during recording.
Note: Any error in the requirements and format above will affect the review of the work.
Awards:
1. First Prize (3 winners), prizes valued at approximately RMB 2500, Huawei tablet.
2. Second Prize (6 winners), prizes valued at approximately RMB 1500, Huawei smart glasses.
3. Third Prize (12 winners), prizes valued at approximately RMB 1000, Huawei fitness band.
4. Learning Encouragement Award (50 winners), prizes valued at approximately RMB 500, free participation in HSK home online test.
5. Excellent Chinese Teacher Award (3 winners), prizes valued at approximately RMB 2500, Huawei tablet.
6. Outstanding Organization Award for institutions.
7. all competing students can participate in one free HSK or HSK oral mock exam, and all competing international Chinese teachers can try the Wohui Mandarin teaching platform for free, valued at approximately RMB 800.
Important Notes:
1. Authors are prohibited from submitting works created by others. Any violation will result in immediate disqualification.
2. Copyright Statement: Contributors guarantee that the submitted work is their own creation with full copyright. From the date of submission, the contributor grants the activity organizer ownership of publication rights of their work (excluding authorship rights). Contributors retain authorship rights and assume responsibility for any copyright issues arising from distribution and publication.
3. Works must be completed by the author alone, with responsibilities for issues related to copyright, authorship, imaging rights, privacy, and other legal matters borne by the author. The organizers, co-organizers, and sponsors only provide the platform for organizing, evaluating, and awarding the activities.
4. Works must not contain violence, pornography, religious or racial discrimination, or infringe on rights. They must not embed advertisements and should aim to spread positive energy.
5. The interpretation rights of this activity belong to the organizer. Participation constitutes acceptance of these activity rules. Authors must abide by rules and laws, and submission implies acknowledgment of the regulations.
