The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) stated on the 3rd that, in order to carry out President Zelensky's 40-day operation against Russia, the SBU used drones to strike two military airports in Crimea.
The SBU said that at Saky Airfield, seven hangars housing Su-30SM, Su-30, Su-24 and other warplanes were hit. Preliminary information shows that at least seven aircraft were damaged; this marks the second attack on the military airfield within a week.
The SBU further stated that at the Near Guards Village airfield, two hangars were attacked, and the hangars contained attack drones and aviation equipment.
The SBU pointed out that Russian military aircraft regularly take off from the above two airfields to launch missiles at Ukraine and provide support for Russian troops.
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense posted the latest battle report on social media, stating that, from June 27 to July 3, in response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilian targets, Russian forces carried out strikes destroying multiple Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, fuel, power, and transport logistics infrastructure used by the Ukrainian military, as well as Ukrainian military airfields, ammunition depots, long-range drone assembly, storage and launch sites, and temporary deployment sites of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries.
