Malaysia National Day Reception Further Deepens Malaysia-Brunei Friendship

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th) The High Commission of Malaysia in Brunei hosted a reception the night before last at the Royal Polo Hall in Jerudong to celebrate Malaysia's 68th National Day.
Over 250 people attended the ceremony, including dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corps, Members of Parliament, senior government officials, scholars, prominent business figures, and representatives of the Malaysian diaspora.
The Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Badaruddin, and his spouse were invited as the guests of honor.
Dato’ Mohd Ezani Md Adenan, the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei, expressed his appreciation for the longstanding close friendship between Malaysia and Brunei in his speech, and expressed his belief that the shared history and trust would continue to drive both countries towards a future of greater peace, prosperity, and harmony.
He also highlighted significant achievements in cooperation between both nations in areas such as economy, defense, tourism, education, and health.
Regarding ASEAN, he reiterated Malaysia’s commitment as ASEAN Chair to bringing ASEAN closer to the people, and to steering ASEAN towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
The ceremony was followed by a cake-cutting event. To showcase elements of Malaysian culture, guests also enjoyed a live performance of the traditional kulintangan musical instrument and a demonstration of Malay martial arts, while sampling a variety of iconic Malaysian traditional dishes.
