Mohamad Hasan Meets with Singapore Foreign Minister to Discuss Preparations for Malaysia-Singapore Informal Leaders’ Meeting

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan will hold a bilateral meeting today with visiting Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to prepare for the 12th Malaysia-Singapore Informal Leaders’ Meeting.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two foreign ministers are expected to review the progress of bilateral relations and cooperation, exchange views on issues of mutual concern, and discuss preparations for the 12th Malaysia-Singapore Informal Leaders’ Meeting to be held in December.

“As neighboring countries and important ASEAN partners, Malaysia and Singapore continue to maintain close cooperation in various fields. This year also marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.”

Malaysia and Singapore are each other's second-largest trading partners. From January to August 2025, bilateral trade reached USD 61.4 billion (RM 266.5 billion), accounting for 8.5% of Malaysia’s total trade.”
