A shooting incident occurred at Sydney's Bondi Beach, Australia on Saturday night, resulting in 16 deaths. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar posted on Facebook at midnight, expressing deep condolences to the families of the victims and wishing the injured a full and speedy recovery.

He said he was deeply shocked by this attack, which claimed the lives of innocent people and injured many, and condemned the violent act in the strongest terms.

"Any act of violence against civilians is indefensible, let alone attacks targeting specific groups based on race or religion. Regardless of time or place, such acts have no basis in any faith or belief."

He stated that Malaysia stands firmly with the people and government of Australia, and fully supports the authorities in investigating the truth in accordance with the law and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Australian Prime Minister Albanese announced on Monday that flags across the nation would be flown at half-mast to mourn the victims of the attack.

Australian police stated that the shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney resulted in 16 deaths, including one perpetrator, and 40 injuries. The two suspects are a father and son.

This is one of the most serious mass shootings in Australia since the 1996 Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania, which claimed 35 lives.
