Recently, a video of a man flying a helicopter to take his mother back to their rural hometown has attracted the attention of netizens. On March 10, Red Star News interviewed and learned that the man flying the helicopter was Mr. Long from Guang'an, Sichuan. That day, he took his mother from Guang'an back to their rural hometown. Normally, it would take more than an hour to drive between the two places, but it only took about 10 minutes that day by helicopter.

Mr. Long told Red Star News that he is a businessman. On March 7, his mother suddenly wanted to return to their rural hometown in Xiaoxi Town. Since his car happened to be lent out to a friend, he decided on the spur of the moment to fly his mother home by helicopter, and submitted an application to the relevant authorities. Usually, it takes more than an hour to drive from Guang'an to his hometown, but it only took 10 minutes by helicopter that day.

Related video footage shows that on that day, after Mr. Long flew the helicopter back to the village, he landed in a dry and level farmland near his hometown, which attracted many villagers to come and watch.

Mr. Long told Red Star News that he bought this helicopter at the end of 2024, spending a total of more than 7 million yuan (about RM4 million). He obtained his helicopter license last year, and usually parks the helicopter in his own hangar. This was not the first time Mr. Long had flown a helicopter to the countryside; he had previously flown to a friend's hometown as well.

Regarding the cost of flying the helicopter that day, Mr. Long said he also gave some villagers a ride to let them experience it, and then flew from the village back to Guang'an. The total expenses added up to about 7,000 to 8,000 yuan (around RM4,000 to RM4,564).
