Vicky Accuses Huang Da-Wei’s Brother-in-law of Sexual Harassment Amid Cancer Battle—Elder Sister’s Lawyer Responds

Veteran singer Huang Da-Wei, who made the song "You Got Me Drunk" famous, suddenly passed away at home on the 3rd with the cause of death still unclear, yet an unexpected 'side case' has emerged. On the 16th, Huang Da-Wei's manager and girlfriend of 31 years, Vicky Chao, accused Huang’s elder sister’s husband of sexually harassing her at a major public event in Taipei in 2024, and said she would consult lawyer Huang Shan-Shan about filing a lawsuit. In response, the Han Ying De Li Law Firm, representing Huang Da-Wei’s elder sister, answered questions from Yi Ping News Network.

According to Vicky Chao, in December last year, Huang Da-Wei flew alone to Hawaii wanting to have an in-depth conversation with his brother-in-law and see how to properly handle the matter. "This was originally just a small thing! I don’t care about the brother-in-law himself, what I care about is that if he sexually harassed someone else, Huang Da-Wei would get implicated!" Vicky once revealed that after Huang went to Hawaii, he lost contact with her for a while because of his sister. She never expected that just five months later, she would receive the tragic news of her boyfriend's sudden passing, which she simply could not accept. "I've spent 31 years day and night with Huang Da-Wei, and I can't believe he passed away so suddenly after spending just five short months in Hawaii with his sister and brother-in-law. Not allowed to ask about the cause of death, not allowed to see him one last time, not allowed to ask questions publicly or get an explanation? I can't accept this!"

Vicky stated that she will consult with her friend, lawyer Huang Shan-Shan, to formally file a sexual harassment complaint against the elder sister's husband, Patrick William O’Neill. On this matter, Han Ying De Li Law Firm responded: "All content instructed by our client has already been released. We will not reply to nor comment on any matters for which we have not received authorization. Thank you."
