A man surnamed Lee from Taoyuan, Taiwan, was imprisoned for 10 years after strangling his girlfriend in 2008. In 2019, after being paroled, he started dating a woman surnamed Chou. The day before yesterday (the 10th), due to another relationship dispute, he once again strangled and killed his ex-girlfriend Chou. After being arrested and sent to the authorities by the police, the prosecutor has already requested and obtained approval from the court for his detention.
According to "Yahoo! News" reports, the Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office stated that they received notice from the Pingzhen Police Precinct the day before yesterday afternoon about the murder case involving Lee (age 49). They immediately assigned a field prosecutor to investigate. Under the prosecutor’s direction, forensic teams examined and collected evidence at the scene and, accompanied by a medical examiner, conducted an autopsy. After questioning Lee and other related witnesses, they determined that Lee, out of dissatisfaction over relationship issues with his ex-girlfriend Chou, went to Chou’s residence in Pingzhen District around 6:30 a.m. on November 10, and strangled her to death. As Lee is strongly suspected of committing murder and poses risks of fleeing, destroying evidence, and repeating the crime, the prosecution requested his detention from the court yesterday, which was granted.
It is reported that in 2008, Lee strangled his girlfriend in the stairwell between the basement and parking lot, and was sentenced to 18 years and 6 months in prison on a murder charge. The official sentence was 18 years and 6 months in prison, confirmed by the court, and he began serving his sentence on June 9, 2009. He was later paroled on December 6, 2019, and placed under protective supervision. The period of protective supervision was set from December 6, 2018, to September 5, 2025, and was due to expire on September 5, 2025. However, unexpectedly, due to another relationship dispute, he killed the ex-girlfriend he had started dating after being released.
