(Miri, 21st) Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Pujut branch publicity secretary, Zhang Kang Mian, deeply regrets the remarks made by Sarawak DAP secretary Ling Sie Kiong, and believes his response once again exposes the essence of Sarawak DAP's shirking and irresponsible nature. It seems Ling Sie Kiong has not yet realized, or is deliberately ignoring, the root of the problem, once again using misleading tactics to divert attention. This approach must be corrected to avoid misleading the people of Sarawak.
Fact 1: Authority of Sarawak Education Department and Federal Finance Ministry
The accusations made by Miri DAP lack factual basis. The bidding process for the security contract of all schools in Sarawak is entirely led by the Sarawak Education Department (under the Malaysian Federal Ministry of Education) and the Federal Finance Ministry, with no authority from the Sarawak government. Right from the start, Sarawak DAP loudly announced to the world without distinguishing right from wrong that Gabungan Parti Sarawak must take full responsibility for this matter. Who is really shirking responsibility?
Fact 2: DAP's Misplacement in Problem-Solving
After being rebuked by SUPP, Sarawak DAP seemed to realize its mistake and promptly issued a letter through the office of the Member of Parliament for Stampin to Prime Minister Anwar and the Federal Second Finance Minister, requesting a review of the related contract.
Zhang Kang Mian stated that this is the correct way to handle the issue, but why wasn't this done from the beginning? Instead, they publicly declared that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak government should bear full responsibility. Isn't this an attempt to confuse the public and mislead them?
Fact 3: Ignoring Mistakes and Shifting Blame
Miri DAP criticized SUPP for "misplacing priorities", but the fact is, Sarawak DAP only "realized the mistake" after being reminded, and then issued a letter to the Prime Minister requesting an investigation. This approach of "mending the fold after the sheep is lost" precisely illustrates Sarawak DAP's lack of the right concept for solving problems. Instead of acknowledging Sarawak DAP's neglect, Miri DAP continues aiming criticism at the Sarawak government, exhibiting disappointing political grandstanding.
Unlike the boastful Sarawak DAP, Gabungan Parti Sarawak always adheres to the principle of "action first". Zhang Kang Mian emphasized, "Not speaking doesn't mean not acting; solving the problem substantially is a responsible attitude."
The Sarawak government always prioritizes the welfare of its people, not bothered by external publicity but focusing on actual work and problem-solving. SUPP consistently upholds the principle of "Sarawak First", actively addressing and contributing to any issues involving the rights of local Sarawak companies. This contrasts with the inherent nature of foreign political parties that are only skilled at creating political topics without actual actions to fight for Sarawak's benefits.
