Li Yijun's Malaysia Fans-Rewarding Performance: "Singing Wholeheartedly, Never Being Careless"

Taiwanese ballad diva Li Yijun, who has been in the industry for 38 years, stood on a large stage in Kuala Lumpur for the first time as a solo artist. During the over 2-hour concert, she sang everything from her debut song "Ping Ju" to "Promise", as well as theme songs from Qiong Yao dramas such as "Wan Jun", "Xue Ke", "Lang Hua", and "Rain Butterfly". During the song request segment, she originally planned to take 3 song requests, but in order to pamper her fans, Li Yijun sang for 30 minutes.

Li Yijun appeared solo for the first time on a major stage in Kuala Lumpur, and in the more than two-hour-long "Yi Qi Ting Jian Ai 2026" concert, she strung together fans' youthful memories with one classic hit after another. From her debut signature song "Ping Ju" to the finale "Promise", and several theme songs from Qiong Yao dramas such as "Wan Jun", "Xue Ke", "Lang Hua", and "Rain Butterfly", every song was a mark of an era, guiding the whole audience into a time tunnel that sparked a mass sing-along.

This concert, organized by Star Fortress, was held on the evening of the sixth day of the Chinese New Year at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil. Li Yijun confessed that she was initially nervous when she received the invitation and was worried whether it would be appropriate to hold a concert during Chinese New Year. In the end, she decided to treat it as a gathering of joy with her Malaysian fans. She specially designed an exclusive setlist for this performance, declaring, "Singing wholeheartedly, never being careless," showing her full sincerity.

Mentioning Malaysia, she was full of memories and recalled that when she first debuted, she stayed in Malaysia for a whole month to promote her first album "Ping Ju", traveling from the south to the north and even to East Malaysia to promote the album, which gradually led fans to know and support her. "Looking back now, all those hardships were worth it."

To thank her fans for their long-term support, she went off stage during her performance of "Ping Ju" to interact closely and shake hands. She jokingly added, "With the length of my legs, I can't possibly walk through the entire arena–if I have to go upstairs, it might take me until tomorrow." Her humorous remark drew hearty laughter from the whole audience.

Recalling her journey in showbiz, Li Yijun said she released her first album at 17 while still in high school, feeling naive and unfamiliar with the industry, yet was fortunate to gain the affection of fans. At 19, she was selected by Qiong Yao to perform many drama theme songs, taking her career to a new level. She straightforwardly stated that Qiong Yao is a benefactor in her life.

The biggest surprise that night was the song request section; it was originally intended for three songs only, but in true fan-pampering fashion, she kept singing, extending the segment to nearly 30 minutes, with a total of ten songs including duets with the fans. These songs included classics such as "Ai Pian Cai Hui Ying", "Shanghai Bund", "Meng Xing Shi Fen", "Jia Hou", "Zui Ai Zui Hen Dou Shi Ni", "Yi Zhi Xiao Yu San", "Qia Shi Ni De Wen Rou", "Xin Bu Liao Qing", "Yue Liang Re De Huo" and "Wo Zhi Zai Hu Ni". The audience showed great unity and tacit understanding in cheering and requesting songs, determined to request every song they wanted to hear, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

In addition to Mandarin classics, she also performed Cantonese and Minnan (Hokkien) songs. She shared that she knew nothing about Hokkien at first, but learned the language bit by bit through singing "Bitter Sea Goddess of Mercy (Ku Hai Nu Shen Long)", encouraging everyone that if they want to learn a new language, they might as well start by singing. She ended the concert with "Promise", closing this 38-year musical journey and leaving beautiful memories for Kuala Lumpur.
