Starring Gong Yoo, Kim Go-eun, Lee Dong-wook, and Yoo In-na, the Korean drama 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God—Goblin' celebrates its 10th anniversary, with the four stars returning to the filming location in Gangneung to record the variety show 'Goblin 10th Anniversary Trip'. In the first episode, many behind-the-scenes stories never revealed before were shared. Gong Yoo recalled that on the very first day of shooting 'Goblin', he unexpectedly had to perform the iconic buckwheat flower kiss scene with Kim Go-eun. He laughed and said, “We clearly weren’t familiar with each other yet, but the director told us to kiss.” Apparently, the buckwheat flower season was about to end at the time, so the crew had to film this pivotal scene in advance. The director even apologized to the two of them, and Kim Go-eun also confirmed with a smile: “Because the flowers were about to wither, we could only film that scene first.” Gong Yoo admitted that both of them were still very unfamiliar at that point, but they managed to complete this romantic, classic scene despite the awkward atmosphere.
While eating and chatting on the show, Yoo In-na revealed that Lee Dong-wook had a severe cold during his first scene and kept sniffing, looking quite weak. She later mustered up the courage to ask, “Do you have a cold?” Lee Dong-wook replied that he had a high fever of 39°C the night before and felt like he was going to die. When Yoo In-na asked, “Really?” Lee Dong-wook unexpectedly shot back, “Really? Or else am I pretending?” making her think he was cold in temperament. Lee Dong-wook was embarrassed and blushed, quickly apologizing to Yoo In-na: “I’m really sorry—am I still in time to apologize now?” Kim Go-eun added fuel to the fire, joking that everyone was there that day “just to set up Lee Dong-wook.” The four stars bantered and teased each other, filling the show with laughter.
Aside from filming anecdotes, the four also shared details about their private friendships after 'Goblin' ended. Kim Go-eun revealed that they frequently arrange impromptu meals and gatherings, while Gong Yoo shared about his friendship with Kim Go-eun: “Even though we’re 12 years apart, I never think about age—we really are like friends.” He went on to reveal that the person he keeps in touch with most often is actually Kim Go-eun: “She contacts me even more often than Dong-wook.” Kim Go-eun teased back: “But the two of you are the ones who secretly hang out the most! When it comes to good food, it’s always just you two.” Gong Yoo quickly explained, “Between guys, sometimes things are just a bit more comfortable,” causing everyone to burst out laughing.
