China National Building Material Group (CNBM) unveiled the domestically developed SYT80 (T1200 grade) ultra-high strength carbon fiber in Beijing on the 11th.
According to Xinhua News Agency, this achievement marks a significant breakthrough for China in the field of ultra-high strength carbon fiber production.
Zhou Yuxian, Chairman of CNBM, stated that the released SYT80 ultra-high strength carbon fiber boasts an engineering tensile strength exceeding 8000 MPa, making it the world's first mass-produced T1200 grade carbon fiber product and reaching the industry's global top level.
The newly released SYT80 ultra-high strength carbon fiber was independently developed by Zhongfu Shenying, a subsidiary of CNBM. Chen Qiufei, General Manager of Zhongfu Shenying, said that the technology behind SYT80 has overcome sub-nanometer molecular structure defect control technology, achieving the mass production of T1200 grade carbon fiber.
Its diameter is less than 10% that of a human hair, yet its tensile strength is 10 times that of ordinary steel, and its density is only 25% that of steel. It can be widely used in high-speed rail, commercial aerospace, new energy, humanoid robots, low-altitude economy, medical equipment, sports and other fields.
