Miri District Men’s and Women’s Chinese Chess Championships Jiang Shuyan and Yu Tingting Crowned King and Queen

(Miri, 2nd) The “2026 Miri District Men’s and Women’s Chinese Chess Championships,” co-organized by the Miri District Chess Association and the Sarawak Miri Hopo Clan Youth League, was successfully concluded at the premises of the Sarawak Miri Hopo Clan Association. Organizing committee chairman and Sarawak Miri Hopo Clan Youth League committee member Yang Tongbao thanked En Roley, an official from the Miri branch of the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports, for presiding over the award ceremony.
This tournament saw Jiang Shuyan win the men’s championship, becoming the new Chess King of Miri; Chess Federation Master Yu Tingting once again clinched the women’s championship, reclaiming the title of Chess Queen.
Official En Roley said: He expressed his gratitude to the members of the Miri District Chess Association for their longstanding dedication, warm support, and the care from chess enthusiasts from all sectors of society. He called on the public to support the Chess Association, actively organize and participate in various activities, and enable the Association to continue contributing to the development of local chess in Miri!
The results of the Miri District Men’s and Women’s Chess Championships are as follows:
Men’s Division
Champion: Jiang Shuyan
First Runner-up: Lin Naicun
Second Runner-up: Yang Yudao
Fourth Place: Su Mouyu
Consolation Prizes (4 winners): Shen Tangmei, Liu Liwei, Yao Zhigao, Zhang Wentai
Women’s Division
Champion: Yu Tingting
First Runner-up: Huang Jingyi
Second Runner-up: Zhong Niannian
Fourth Place: Zeng Enqi
Consolation Prizes (4 winners): Wu Peiqi, Mei Yuen, Lin Chenhong, Jiang Xinyun
