SOP 2025 Inter-Regional Badminton Competition Concludes Successfully

(Miri, 14th) The Sarawak Oil Palms Group's “SOP Inter-Region Badminton Competition 2025” concluded successfully over the weekend of April 12th to 13th at the Tung Sports Centre in Miri. Teams from SOP regions gathered for two days of intense, exciting matches filled with team spirit and sportsmanship.

The competition was officiated by the Chief Operating Officer of Sarawak Oil Palms Group (SOP), Eric Kiu Kwong Seng, who emphasized in his speech the important role that sports play within the SOP family, urging everyone to promote the spirit of unity, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle through sports.

This year’s event attracted a total of 21 teams, including participation from international colleagues, adding to the diversity and international exchange atmosphere. Competing teams participated in five match categories: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Veteran Men's Doubles, and a second Men's Doubles, providing a comprehensive and inclusive platform for all participants.

After a series of intense matches, the top four winning teams emerged as follows:

Champion: Borneo Hornbill (successfully defending their 2024 championship title)
1st Runner-up: Bintulu Downstream
2nd Runner-up: HQ Smashers
4th Place: HQ Elites


Borneo Hornbill once again demonstrated exceptional teamwork and consistent performance, successfully defending their championship title.

This event was well-received by SOP employees, showcasing not only the competitive spirit of the participants but also the support and encouragement among colleagues, creating a lively and positive atmosphere throughout the competition.
