The White House stated on the 29th that Israel has accepted a 60-day temporary ceasefire plan for Gaza proposed by the United States. However, a senior Hamas official issued a statement that evening saying that Hamas has received Israel's response to the Gaza ceasefire plan, but the response did not consider Hamas's demands.
White House Press Secretary Kalee highlighted to the media that Israel has accepted a ceasefire plan proposed by U.S. Middle East envoy Witkof and President Trump. Related discussions are ongoing, with hopes that a ceasefire in Gaza can be achieved.
She also stated that, to her knowledge, Hamas has not yet accepted the plan.
On the evening of the 29th, senior Hamas official Naeem released a statement saying that Hamas has received Israel's response to Witkof's proposal. Essentially, the response means that Israel continues its occupation, and continues its policies of killing and starvation. Israel's response did not consider any of the demands of the Gaza people, the most important among which is to stop the war and famine. Nevertheless, considering that the people of Gaza are suffering from war, the Hamas leadership is responsibly studying how to respond to this proposal.
American media quoted U.S. and Israeli sources as reporting that the ceasefire plan includes a 60-day ceasefire, Hamas releasing 10 detainees, and the return of the bodies of 18 detainees.
Israel is currently continuing its military operations in Gaza, and there are differing accounts from various sides regarding the ceasefire plan. Witkof denied on the 26th that Hamas had accepted the proposed Gaza ceasefire plan. Subsequently, Hamas said it had agreed to a ceasefire plan proposed by Witkof, but according to Israeli officials, the ceasefire plan Hamas agreed to was not the one proposed by Witkof.
