(Miri, 8th) The Miri District Police Chief ACP ALEXSON NAGA ANAK CHABU confirmed a team of police officers and members from the Division District Narcotics Crime Investigation (BSJND), Miri District Police Headquarters, Sarawak has been successful detained 1 male foreign citizen who is 27 years old who is suspected to be involved with drug trafficking activities.
On January 6, 2025, the raid team of the District Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (BSJND), The Miri District Police Office, Sarawak has conducted an inspection and raid on a shop house in Permyjaya area, Miri, Sarawak. The result of the inspection and raid, the Police have arrested 1 man and seized a total of 30 grams of suspected drugs Methamphetamine.
The suspect will be taken to the Miri Court Complex for a remand application to assistinvestigation. This case is being investigated under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. If convicted the offense is punishable by imprisonment for life or not less than 5 years and caning not less than 10 lashes.
The Miri District Police advises the public to continue to pass on information related to activities drug dealing happening around them to immediately report it everywhere Police station nearby so that this activity can be curbed and eradicated together.
