Masahiro Nakai Denies Sexual Violence, Requests Evidence Disclosure

Published at May 13, 2025 03:33 pm
Japanese star Masahiro Nakai was reported to have had a dispute with a female TV station employee at the end of December last year, which was settled through a high settlement payment. This incident also led to a "sexual tribute" scandal within Fuji Television, forcing the station to organize a third-party investigation committee. On January 9 this year, Nakai issued an apology statement on his official website, but it did not quell the turmoil. By January 23, he announced his withdrawal from the entertainment industry on his website and fan club site.

The third-party investigation committee released their findings at the end of March, confirming that Nakai had indeed committed acts of sexual violence against a woman, causing her substantial physical and mental harm. Over a month later, on the 12th, Nakai's attorney requested the disclosure of relevant evidence regarding the committee's conclusion of his involvement in sexual violence, citing "for Mr. Nakai's human rights relief" as the reason. The attorney pointed out that the incident "did not confirm the violent or coercive sexual acts generally associated with such cases."

Additionally, the lawyer revealed that Nakai participated in a nearly 6-hour hearing on March 9, where he honestly answered the committee's questions. However, Nakai's main points were barely reflected in the investigation report. Following the news coverage, "Masahiro Nakai" quickly became a trending topic, with various opinions emerging, including calls for Nakai himself to hold a press conference.
