The Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Zheng Likan, pointed out that the current situation in Malaysia is akin to the Lunar New Year Lou Sang, where different races and religions can come together to celebrate the festival.

He said that Lou Sang involves mixing foods of different colors and flavors together to achieve success, which aptly reflects the current situation in Malaysia with people of different races and religions.

“This multicultural background is not an obstacle, but our strength. It also attracts foreign investment because our diverse backgrounds, languages, and cultures make us a unique investment destination in the region.”

Zheng Likan stated this on Sunday (February 9) at the Chinese New Year 2025 Reunion Luncheon organized by the General Assembly of Chinese Associations of Malaysia.

He said that our multicultural background is the wealth left to us by our forebears, and we must defend it at all costs, not allowing any extremists to destroy this wealth.

“Diversity is the current state of Malaysia, representing our real situation, and we must uphold Malaysia's diversity.”

Zheng Likan also mentioned that although 2025 is a year full of uncertainties, it is also full of opportunities.

He said that within just half a year of its establishment, Malaysia’s first integrated circuit design park (IC Design Park) has already been fully occupied, showing the strong interest of foreign investors, especially technology investors, in our country.

Therefore, he urged all parties to seize the opportunity, work together to promote national racial unity, economy, and technology, and make 2025 a year of economic take-off for Malaysia.
