Janice's Stable Vocal Performance Wows Malaysian Fans

Hong Kong's powerhouse female singer Janice (Janice Vidal) returned to Malaysia for a concert after 17 years, with a packed audience. Janice led everyone into her musical world with her heartfelt music and moving stories, creating a warm and lively atmosphere at the scene. To repay her fans for their unwavering support and long wait over the years, Janice prepared plenty of surprises at the concert especially for her Malaysian fans, letting everyone leave with memories to cherish.

The "OUT OF FRAME Janice World Tour – Malaysia Stop" was staged grandly on Saturday night at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting. This marks Janice's first world tour since her debut. With her sincere singing and touching stories, she immersed the entire audience in her musical universe, creating an atmosphere that was both cozy and spirited.

At previous tour stops, special guests of significant meaning to her were invited, and for the Malaysia stop, she invited local powerhouse singer Lee Pei Ling as her guest to duet the 2008 track "Circus". Their similar vocal timbres and powerful delivery blended seamlessly, winning thunderous applause from the audience. Janice joked that the two met on a variety show and that she always liked Lee Pei Ling's voice, so when she learned she would perform in Malaysia, Lee Pei Ling was naturally her first invitee. Lee Pei Ling confessed she was flattered to receive the invitation, and as someone who doesn't speak much Cantonese, she even wrote out the lyrics phonetically, so during the performance, she sometimes needed to sneak a peek at her "cheat sheet." Later, Lee Pei Ling also performed her new release "Please Bloom Freely" at the concert.

Jointly organized by Star Planet and Topgallant Entertainment, this concert marks Janice’s first return to Malaysia for a show in 17 years. To thank Malaysian fans for their support, Janice broke her usual routine and personally walked off the stage to shake hands and sing with fans during "A Misunderstanding" and "Only Love Matters." As she shook hands, she strived to keep her singing on point, paid attention to her facial expressions, and considered the safety of fans crowding forward. Her exceptionally stable vocal skills left everyone in awe, with fans saying the concert was truly worth every penny.

This year marks Janice’s 20th anniversary since her debut. At the concert, she shared her life journey: her parents divorced when she was young, she lived with her mother while her twin sister lived with their father, and they were reunited at age 10. Her father was a musician, and different types of music played at home exposed her to music from an early age. At 18, she was discovered by Leon Lai and Mark Lui and officially debuted. She told her fans: “These 20 years, my music has accompanied you, but you have also been there for me through ups and downs. I’m deeply grateful to have met you and experienced all this, which made me who I am today.”

The concert lasted two and a half hours, with Janice presenting numerous classic K-songs such as "Running Away From Home," "Confused Heart," "Ten of Him Can't Compare to One of You," "Even If There's No Fairy Tale In The World," "Injuries," "Between Breaths," among others. With the accompaniment of music director So Do Che, she covered Jacky Cheung’s "Breaking Up Is Always in the Rain," and also did a self-accompanied performance of "Only Love," highlighting her pure and touching musical style.

Additionally, she prepared the "mystery box" song "Chocolate Ice" especially for Malaysian fans, sweetening up the atmosphere in the venue. The encore song "Big Brother" set off a mass singalong, bringing a memorable and emotional close to this reunion after 17 years.
