(Bandar Seri Begawan, 9th) His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei attended the welcome dinner this evening, hosted at the Mactan Cebu International Convention Center by the President of the Republic of the Philippines and ASEAN Chair Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos.
This banquet was held for the heads of state, government leaders, and special guests attending the 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings, creating a solemn and lively atmosphere.
Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan to the dinner was His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen. Upon arrival at the venue, His Majesty was received by the Philippine President and his wife.
During the dinner, various cultural performances were presented, further enhancing the cultural atmosphere at the venue and showcasing the diversity of ASEAN cultures.
After the banquet, His Majesty the Sultan departed Cebu, Philippines that night, marking the successful conclusion of his itinerary for the 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.
Among those seeing off His Majesty at Benito Ebuen Air Base were Philippine Secretary of Social Welfare and Development Rexlon Gatchalian, as well as staff from the Brunei Embassy in Manila.
Megawati, daughter of Brunei’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Philippines, Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud, along with embassy officials, were also present at the send-off.
