(Bandar Seri Begawan, 6th) The Minister of Home Affairs, Dato Awang Aminuddin, yesterday presided over the flag handover ceremony of the Brunei-Muara District Celebration Committee for His Majesty the Sultan's 79th birthday at the main entrance of The Mall, and flagged off the national flag bearers' contingent, which consisted of 79 members.
The ceremony was organized by the Brunei-Muara District Office. During the event, the Minister presented mini national flags and certificates of appreciation to the 79 participants of “Expedesi 79”. The convoy was led by Abdul, the captain of the Vespa convoy.
The participants in this expedition were made up of members and new recruits from the Vespa Owners Group (VOG). The 79 riders in the expedition symbolized His Majesty the King’s upcoming 79th birthday.
Permanent Secretaries of the Brunei-Muara District, Legislative Council members, acting Brunei-Muara District officials, as well as members of the committee for the 79th birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, also attended the expedition.
