Following the denial statement issued by Thailand's Hatyai police, the Malaysian convoy representative “Tok Singa” released a new video on Monday night, showing his physical driving license and stressing that he was still issued a ticket by traffic police for “failure to present a valid license.”
In the video, he strongly refuted the Hatyai police’s justification for ticketing some of the convoy riders for “failing to present a license,” and displayed his physical driving license which is valid until 2036.
He claimed that his fellow riders fully cooperated and presented their documents, but some were deemed in violation because their license versions either lacked a photo or differed in format. He expressed his confusion over being fined despite carrying and presenting a valid license himself.
He further revealed that the police’s initial reason for stopping the entire convoy was suspicion that the motorcycles’ “exhaust noise was excessive,” but in reality, all the exhaust systems were original manufacturer standard.
He questioned the police for employing a “dragnet” approach, checking every single rider in the group until other reasons for issuing fines were found.
Additionally, regarding transparency during the enforcement process, he mentioned that police had asked them to stop recording or to turn off live streaming during the interception. He called on the relevant authorities to release the police’s on-site body camera footage in full, if they believe the law enforcement process was fully compliant, so as to uphold public trust.
At the end of the video, he clarified and corrected figures previously mentioned in earlier footage. He stated that a total of 9 riders were affected by this interception, with the police ultimately issuing 12 tickets (some riders received 2 to 3 fines), amounting to a total fine of 12,000 Thai Baht.
He stated the purpose of releasing this video was to restore the true situation at the scene and correct information, hoping the public and netizens can make rational judgments based on facts.
