On the eve of the sixth anniversary of the Hong Kong Anti-Extradition Bill movement, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Garrison in Hong Kong dispatched some forces from its land, sea, and air units to conduct a joint patrol.
The official WeChat account of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, “Xiangjiang Lijian”, published an article on Wednesday night (June 11), stating that the garrison conducted an emergency mobilization exercise that day, involving some forces from its land, sea, and air units to organize a joint patrol. The focus was on honing the forces’ combat capabilities in emergency response, rapid planning, emergency deployment, joint operations, and handling special situations.
“Xiangjiang Lijian” stated that the joint patrol included various arms such as high-mobility infantry on land, naval training vessels at sea, and patrol helicopters in the air. It was conducted in a continuous manner following actual combat requirements, emphasizing rapid deployment and planning at the command post, sea and air patrols, temporary inspections and captures, joint sea area control, emergency rescue and repair, and other actual combat content. The exercise tested command control, information communication, joint actions, and comprehensive support in high-intensity confrontational scenarios, consolidating and enhancing the garrison's capabilities in emergency response and executing diverse military tasks.
“Xiangjiang Lijian” concluded that during the joint patrol, the garrison strictly adhered to Hong Kong's laws concerning roads, waterways, and air traffic management, and had informed the relevant departments of the Hong Kong SAR Government in advance.
