The popular Thai herbal nasal inhaler brand Hongthai, which has caused a “Lisa-endorsed” nose inhaler craze in Thailand, was recently named by the Thai Food and Drug Administration for removal from shelves.

On October 27th, the agency announced that the brand’s “Hongthai Herbal Nasal Inhaler Formula 2” was found through testing to contain several types of microbial contamination, categorizing it as a non-compliant herbal product, and urged the public to stop using it immediately.
According to Thai media reports, the problematic medicinal product was manufactured on December 9th, 2024 and is valid until December 8th, 2027. This batch was directly sampled and tested by FDA personnel at the manufacturing plant, and authorities have now begun legal action against the company.
Hongthai is a well-known Thai herbal inhaler brand, which became extremely popular after Lisa—a member of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK and a native of Thailand—showcased it during an interview. Lisa has used several brands of nasal inhalers, but the Hongthai product, featuring a swan logo, has become a must-buy “Lisa’s endorsed” souvenir among travelers in Thailand, offering a variety of herbal scent options.
The Thai Food and Drug Administration reminds consumers that if they have in their possession a Hongthai inhaler with the code 000332, they should stop using it and discard it immediately to avoid health risks from inhaling contaminated substances.
