Venezuelan President Maduro stated on the 30th that the country's Bolivarian National Armed Forces intercepted 9 drug-smuggling planes within 24 hours, setting a new record.
Maduro posted on social media saying that the Venezuelan Air Force is constantly monitoring abnormal situations. In 2025, the country will fight drug trafficking groups and foreign enemies; a total of 39 drug-smuggling planes have been intercepted.
On the evening of the 29th, the Venezuelan military's Strategic Operational Commander Hernandez, when briefing on the intercepted planes, stated that Venezuela will not become a platform for transnational crime.
He said: "These products are neither produced nor processed in Venezuela, nor are they consumed here. Venezuela certainly will not become a transit point for these illegal products."
