(Sri Aman, 1st) It is recommended that local governments continuously improve the quality of public services and plan urban development in a more systematic manner to address current challenges.
Datuk Yusof Abdul stated that even though the current service standards are satisfactory, further improvements still need to be pursued.
He pointed out that optimizing services is crucial to ensure that community well-being is always protected, so as to cope with increasingly severe social development challenges.
“Public health and cleanliness cannot be neglected. Poor management could lead to the spread of dangerous diseases such as rabies and dengue fever.”
“Weak law enforcement and violations of urban planning could also affect regional development and overall balance.” He said this during the Hari Raya celebration organized by the Sri Aman District Council last night.
At the same time, he emphasized that infrastructure such as streetlights, signboards, and public facilities should be maintained regularly to avoid inconveniencing residents.
Yusof also pointed out that revenue work such as tax collection and license management must be executed efficiently, as these are the main sources of funding for local development.
“All measures should be implemented in an orderly and effective manner, especially the crucial role of the District Council in safeguarding community well-being,” he explained.
He reminded that although daily services like garbage collection are often overlooked, delays can cause inconvenience to residents.
He also praised the Sri Aman District Council for having received numerous national recognitions and hopes such excellence can continue to bring honor to the region and country.
