(Miri, 3rd) Member of Parliament for Miri, YB Chiew Choon Man, recently set up a mobile service counter at the Food Center on Road 2, Krokop, to engage with the public face-to-face, listen to their voices, and help resolve their issues.
Chiew Choon Man stated that the mobile counter aims to bridge the gap between the government and the public, allowing people to directly report problems, offer suggestions, and inquire about the various government aid application procedures without having to visit government offices. This initiative not only makes it more convenient for voters to express their demands but also helps him to better understand the challenges faced by the public to develop more precise solutions.
“Through such a more approachable and direct method, I can interact with the public, listen to their needs, and find suitable solutions for individual issues. In addition, we also provide consultations for government aid applications and channels for complaints about government agencies, ensuring that the people receive better assistance.”
Apart from collecting public feedback, the mobile service counter also offers various related services, such as consultations for government aid programs and complaint channels, to ensure that people receive the necessary assistance. Chiew emphasized that this is not just a one-time event but a long-term plan, with mobile counters set to be regularly established at different locations in Miri to benefit every community.
“As the Member of Parliament for Miri, I firmly believe that only by truly going into the community can we more effectively solve the problems faced by the people. The mobile service counter will become an important platform to further strengthen the connection between the government and the public and enhance the efficiency of public services.”
He expressed hope that this initiative would benefit more Miri residents, encouraging more citizens to actively participate in the mobile counter program in the future to contribute collectively to building a better Miri.
Finally, he thanked all the citizens who participated in and supported this plan and promised to organize more similar activities in the future to ensure that the rights and welfare of every Miri resident are protected.
