Thailand's Deputy Government Spokesperson, Rachada, announced on the 25th that following the passing of Queen Mother Sirikit, the government is advocating for the entertainment industry, entertainment venues, and various service institutions to suspend or reduce all types of entertainment activities for a period of 30 days, in order to demonstrate the nation's mourning for the Queen Mother.

According to the Thai Headline News Agency, for activities that have already begun preparation, organizers need to adjust the format to ensure it aligns with the atmosphere of mourning; for activities which have not yet commenced, organizers should consider postponing until after the mourning period ends. All related arrangements must take into full account appropriateness and solemnity, and reflect respect for the Queen Mother’s benevolence.

Rachada emphasized that government agencies and public officials have already implemented relevant measures in accordance with official mourning procedures, and that the public and private institutions can express their condolences according to their actual circumstances. The government calls on all sectors of society to jointly maintain a solemn atmosphere and good order during the national mourning period, as a profound tribute to the Queen Mother’s endless grace.

Regarding nationwide celebrations and public events such as concerts, Prime Minister Anutin previously stated that the government will request relevant parties to cooperate and exercise restraint, and that arrangements will be carefully considered as long as they do not affect the overall atmosphere of mourning. “The government will strive to find a balance, so that arrangements both comply with Thai culture and traditions, while also taking into account social order and the sentiments of the people.”
