Huang Xiaoming Reveals He Once Saved Liu Yifei’s Life—Shocking Past Incident Sparks Heated Discussion

Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming recently appeared on the variety show "Universe Flashing, Please Note." On the show, he was asked to recall his memories from shooting "The Return of the Condor Heroes," unexpectedly revealing a shocking event: he once rescued Liu Yifei by a waterfall in Jiuzhaigou. The topic quickly went viral online, shooting to the top of search trends and sparking widespread discussion.

Huang Xiaoming recounted on the show that during the 2004 filming of "The Return of the Condor Heroes," the crew was shooting by a waterfall in Jiuzhaigou. It was winter at the time; temperatures were low and the current was swift. He said that during filming, Liu Yifei accidentally fell into the waterfall and was swept away by the rushing water: “I just jumped into the waterfall and pulled her out.” He ultimately managed to drag Liu Yifei back to shore, preventing the incident from escalating.

This harrowing filming memory from years ago has once again become a focal point. However, the incident has also drawn differing opinions. Some internet users and fans dug up old records and pointed out that, in fact, it was the assistant director Gao Mingku who first jumped in and grabbed Liu Yifei, while Huang Xiaoming and other staff members assisted both from the shore and in the water. They describe the rescue as a “collective effort by the crew,” not the accomplishment of any single person. Many level-headed commenters have also posted that in such a cold and hazardous environment, anyone willing to participate in the rescue deserves gratitude, regardless of who went in first. Fortunately, the incident did not end in tragedy.
