The GPS Government is Truly Fighting for Sarawak's Rights

(Miri, 21st) In response to the Sarawak DAP's Youth Wing's recent submission of a so-called "political cooperation proposal" to Sarawak's Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari, attempting to collaborate with the Sarawak government on the oil and gas issue, the Central Propaganda Department of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) severely criticized the Sarawak DAP for this move. It is merely another political stunt, not only unnecessary but also deliberately misleading the people of Sarawak, attempting to use political maneuvering to cover up the fact that the Sarawak DAP has made no contributions to Sarawak.

Why is the Sarawak DAP still hyping the oil and gas issue despite the Sarawak government's clarifications?

The Sarawak government has repeatedly clarified the breakthrough achievements it has made in negotiations with the federal government. However, the Sarawak DAP continues to turn a deaf ear to these facts and is fixated on incessantly hyping the oil and gas issue, aiming to blind the people of Sarawak and create unnecessary political disputes to keep itself in the media spotlight.

"Having spoken but not listening, listening but not understanding, understanding but not accepting!" The Sarawak DAP ignores the negotiation results of the Sarawak government, instead distorting facts and spreading misinformation, attempting to mislead the people of Sarawak. The purpose of the Sarawak DAP is simple, to create a political drama to make itself appear as a "hero" for Sarawak's oil and gas rights, yet without any substantial contribution.

Sarawak's Prime Minister already has a strategy, the Sarawak DAP should stop overdoing things.

Sarawak's Prime Minister has comprehensive strategies and plans in negotiations with Petronas and the federal government to ensure that Sarawak maximizes control over its own oil and gas resources and gains the greatest economic benefits. Facts have proven that Sarawak has already made significant progress in the oil and gas sector, moving from being entirely under Petronas's control to having a greater voice, and all these achievements have nothing to do with the Sarawak DAP.

However, the Sarawak DAP is now attempting to "hitch a ride," suddenly proposing a so-called "political cooperation" after the Sarawak government has already succeeded. This is nothing more than a carefully orchestrated political show. They are aware that the Sarawak government has made substantial breakthroughs on the oil and gas issue, yet they still try to create the illusion that the Sarawak government needs the Sarawak DAP's assistance to deceive the people of Sarawak.

The Sarawak DAP has made no contribution, so why is it now trying to interfere and meddle?

During the Sarawak government's efforts to fight for oil and gas autonomy, the Sarawak DAP has not made any contributions. Now that the Sarawak government has successfully negotiated a historic breakthrough, the Sarawak DAP suddenly appears, pretending to suggest the establishment of a "two-party committee." Isn't this redundant?

In fact, without the involvement of the Sarawak DAP, Sarawak is still advancing steadily, and the Sarawak government can still fight for the people's greatest interests. No contributions in the past, now trying to "claim credit," this is the Sarawak DAP's usual political stunt.

If the Sarawak DAP truly cared about Sarawak's oil and gas rights, why did it not fight for any oil and gas rights from the federal government when Pakatan Harapan was in power? Where are the election promises of 20% oil royalty and 50% tax return to Sarawak? The answer is simple; the Sarawak DAP does not truly care about Sarawak but only about how to hype issues to gain political capital.

The third and fourth-tier leaders of the Sarawak DAP are frequently making statements, what else can they do besides disturbing public sentiment?

Recently, some third and fourth-tier leaders of the Sarawak DAP have been making irresponsible remarks in the media, attempting to use the oil and gas issue to create confusion. These comments, rather than helping Sarawak's development, only disturb the public and instigate fear.

Despite holding a significant number of seats in parliament, the Sarawak DAP has not fought for any rights for Sarawak. Now it wants to "share the pie" in a negotiation situation where the Sarawak government holds an advantage. This shameless political maneuvering has fully exposed the true nature of the Sarawak DAP, which is not to solve problems but to create problems and gain cheap political capital.

The Sarawak DAP is continuously pulling back progress; if it truly cares about Sarawak, it should stop meaningless maneuvering.

The current behavior of the Sarawak DAP has severely disrupted Sarawak's progress. If the Sarawak DAP truly cares about Sarawak's rights, it should immediately stop its meaningless political show instead of constantly pulling back against the Sarawak government's strenuous endeavors.

The people of Sarawak have now realized the truth that it is the Sarawak government that is truly fighting for Sarawak's rights, not those politicians who only shout slogans and hype issues. If the Sarawak DAP truly wants to contribute to Sarawak, it should stop the political playacting and come up with truly constructive proposals and actions.

The Central Propaganda Department of the Sarawak United People's Party emphasized that Sarawak's development does not need political actors to perform; what is needed is a pragmatic, negotiation-capable leadership team like the Sarawak Party (GPS) government that truly fights for the people's interests.
