Malaysia participated in the 2025 SEMICON Southeast Asia, successfully discovering RM4.6 billion in potential investments, further proving our nation’s appeal in the eyes of international investors.

Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry Tengku Zafrul said that during this event, hailed as the “World Cup” for the microelectronics and semiconductor industries, the Malaysian delegation held strategic meetings with investors in the electrical and electronics engineering sectors, including large data center operators.

He said the Malaysian pavilion also garnered international attention, with nine local companies showcasing various high-tech products, including testing equipment, system solutions, and environmentally sustainable innovations for electronic waste management in adherence to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

In a short video posted on Instagram Reels, he said: “These companies generate annual revenues exceeding RM843 million, with most of it derived from exports to international markets.”

“During the exhibition, we also attracted buyers from Singapore, Japan, China, and the United States, with an export potential close to RM237 million.”

Additionally, Tengku Zafrul mentioned that Malaysia also held discussions with large enterprises in Singapore's food and fast-moving consumer goods sectors, exploring opportunities to export Malaysian halal products to Singapore.

He said these discussions opened the door to an additional RM270 million export potential for Malaysia.

“This is a golden opportunity for Malaysian producers to enter the Singaporean market, with a total potential investment value of RM4.6 billion and an export potential of RM507 million.”
