Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has formally sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, nominating Donald Trump to compete for the Peace Prize.
On the 7th, Hun Manet announced that he has officially sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, nominating U.S. President Trump as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize to acknowledge his important contributions in facilitating a ceasefire and continually promoting the peace process during the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
Hun Manet stated that this move is in response to the appeals of Cambodians at home and abroad, and also expresses gratitude for President Trump’s active concern and steadfast support for peace between Cambodia and Thailand.
He noted that President Trump personally paid attention to and promoted the immediate ceasefire agreement between the Cambodian and Thai militaries, and continued to monitor its implementation until the two countries achieved comprehensive peace, playing a key role in regional stability.
