Palace Downplays Polls as Non-Criterion, Marcos Satisfaction Rate Sparks Debate

Malacañang, the Philippine presidential palace, emphasized that poll numbers are not the standard for assessing governance performance and should not be used to mislead public perception. This statement was in response to the results of a survey conducted by Social Weather Stations from November 23 to 30, 2025.

The survey showed that out of 1,200 respondents, only 40% were satisfied with President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.'s performance, lower than Vice President Sara Z. Duterte's 54%.

Presidential press secretary Claire Castro stated that the data was surprising and that doubts remain regarding the polling methodology. She pointed out that Marcos is fully dedicating himself to his duties, while the vice president is on leave, urging the public not to let polls "invert right and wrong."

She stressed that no matter what the numbers show, the facts will not change, and the president will continue to fulfill his mission and redouble his efforts to improve people's lives. She reiterated that polls do not truly reflect the actual performance of leaders.
