Enhancing Workplace Safety Awareness: Methanol Company Launches Safety Week

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 28th) Brunei Methanol Company (BMC) has launched its inaugural Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Week.
With the theme of “Together We Create a Resilient, Safe, and Sustainable Future,” this event fully demonstrates Brunei Methanol Company’s strong commitment to the safety, well-being, and resilience of its employees, workplace, and overall operations.
The week-long event aims to raise public awareness, promote active participation, and reinforce a sense of responsibility and execution in the four pillars of health, safety, security, and environment.
The launch ceremony was jointly officiated by guest of honor, Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam Managing Director Shamir, and Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) Chief Executive Officer Muhsin, attracting the attendance and support of representatives from regulatory bodies, industry partners, and the business community.
In his welcome speech, Brunei Methanol Company Chief Executive Officer Jesus Enrique emphasized the importance of cultivating a "safety first" mindset at all levels of the company. He pointed out that safety has always been BMC’s top priority, and that only through teamwork, safety awareness, and shared responsibility can reliable and sustainable operations be achieved.
The week-long activities are rich and diverse, including behavior-based safety awareness seminars, road safety campaigns, a Sungai Pungai Dan tree-planting program, knowledge competitions, and emergency drills, among others.
