Chinese rising star Wang Xingyue has recently been busy filming the new drama Braving Tigers and Crossing Rivers. In the show, he plays a coal mine technician and was recently spotted with the production team at a reservoir suspension bridge, ready to shoot. In the scene, Wang Xingyue grips a thick electric cable with his bare hands, his feet have no support, and his whole body is suspended in mid-air. Relying only on basic safety gear and a single steel wire, he performed the stunt himself, demonstrating both skill and courage, which has since sparked heated discussion online!

Reportedly, Wang Xingyue's character is imprisoned after being falsely accused of wife-murder, and his life is full of hardships. To fully commit to the role, Wang even cut his hair short and developed a hunched posture and deep voice to enhance a weathered look. Despite having a fear of heights, he managed to break through this psychological barrier, performing high-difficulty stunts hundreds of meters above a reservoir. After behind-the-scenes footage emerged, many netizens exclaimed, “That’s way too dangerous!” pointing out he was truly pushing his limits with a highly dedicated work attitude. Witnessing this thrilling performance, many fans expressed their distress online, voicing protests and calling for “protection of rights,” hoping the crew will pay closer attention to actors’ safety in the future.

In fact, even before filming the suspension bridge scene, Wang Xingyue had already performed in the rain atop a structure dozens of meters high, while suffering from a cold, reshooting the scene over ten times. During outdoor shoots in the Chongqing mountains, the cast braved harsh environments such as public dry toilets and deep forests, enduring mosquito bites, all in order to film on location. No wonder the director described Wang Xingyue as someone who “gets into character as soon as the camera rolls,” and the media has praised him as a “model of professionalism among young actors.”
