(Miri, 24th) Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang stated that the City Council and Pantai Bayu Indah are collaborating to launch a beach cleaning campaign at the Coastal City to jointly maintain the cleanliness of the coastal environment.

At a press conference after the City Council's monthly meeting today, he pointed out that the beach trash problem has long existed, with one part being natural wood debris, and the rest being human-generated trash, particularly household waste and plastic bottle pollution being the most severe.
The problems of marine debris and plastic pollution are numerous for many reasons. Miri Mayor Adam Yii calls on volunteers to participate in beach cleaning activities.

Adam Yii emphasized that solving the garbage problem requires the cooperation of all citizens. It should not only rely on the efforts of the City Council, and the public should also enhance their environmental awareness to reduce littering.
He encourages volunteers or groups to contact the City Council's Public Cleanliness Management Group (PCM) in advance when planning beach cleaning activities, so arrangements can be made to transport away the collected garbage, ensuring a more efficient cleanup.

The City Council calls on citizens to cherish Miri's natural environment and work together to maintain a beautiful coastline in the Coastal City, keeping it clean for future generations to enjoy a beautiful ecology.
