(Salakau, 15th) – Famous for its sweet and tender “Labong Fish”, Salakau will welcome the “2025 Borneo Healthy Cycling Unity Tour” team this Saturday (August 16) at the Seri Kalaka main stage.
Kalaka District Councilor Mohamad Duri expressed excitement that Salakau was chosen as a midway stop for this cycling tour.
“As the elected representative here, I warmly welcome the cycling team’s arrival and thank you for choosing Salakau.
“Frankly speaking, I fully support activities related to the unity agenda, especially those that promote a healthy lifestyle and enhance the patriotic spirit within the Salakau community.” he said in an interview with ‘Sarawak Voice’ yesterday.
Earlier, he and PBB Kalaka Branch Vice Chairman Kasdi Pandi held a meeting at the Kalaka District Councilor’s Service Centre with Salakau Cycling Club representative Suib Jenal.
He noted that several activities have already been arranged to welcome the cycling team passing through Salakau this weekend.
“The Salakau Cycling Club will take part in greeting the team and will install flags at several suggested locations as a symbolic marking of the event.
“Therefore, I urge the people of Salakau to turn out enthusiastically and actively participate in this large event. This is a team cycling from Kudat, Sabah, all the way to Teluk Melano, Sarawak.” he said.
He added that this event has three core agendas: the Unity and National Integration Agenda, the Malaysia Healthy Nation Agenda, and the 2025 Independence Month Grand Celebration.
