Sky scare for more than two hours! An aircraft carrying 171 passengers and crew was forced to return to the airport due to engine failure after taking off; this aircraft circled in the sky for more than two hours before landing safely under the instructions of airport personnel. All passengers and crew are unharmed.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Deputy Director Ahmad Mukriz said that after receiving notification at 10:37 pm on Wednesday (26th), nine firefighters from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, along with three rescue personnel from the Airport Fire Rescue Service (AFRS), were summoned to provide assistance at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2.
Rescue personnel called to the scene to understand the situation.
He quoted the investigation, stating that the AirAsia Airbus A320 series 216 aircraft was earlier en route from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 to Shenzhen, China.

He issued a statement that the aircraft returned to Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 at 9:59 pm due to a right engine failure.
Notified rescue personnel gathered at the airport.
“The aircraft circled in the air for nearly over two hours before safely landing at the airport at 12:08 am on Thursday.”

“Authorities investigated that the aircraft's pneumatic ducting suddenly burst, but it was extinguished before the aircraft landed.”

Ahmad Mukriz added, the 171 passengers and crew on board disembarked safely with the assistance of rescue personnel.
