(Russia, 16th) — Russian President Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu held a phone call to discuss the situation in the Middle East.

According to The Times of Israel, the Kremlin reported that Putin and Netanyahu spoke by phone on Saturday (November 15), discussing the situation in Gaza, Iran's nuclear program, and the issue of Syria.

The Israeli side reported that the call was initiated by Putin.
The Israeli Prime Minister's Office stated that this was the latest in a series of recent calls between the two leaders, and that the conversation involved regional issues. The office did not provide further details.

The Russian and Israeli leaders have previously spoken several times. During a call in mid-October, Putin emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution to the Gaza issue and stated that Moscow wishes to assist in preventing a humanitarian disaster in the Gaza region.
According to an Israeli press release, Netanyahu made it clear to Putin that Israel will not stop its offensive on Gaza until Hamas is destroyed.
