Former Political Commissar of the Chinese PLA Naval Command College, Xia Zhihe, has reportedly replaced Zhong Shaojun as the Political Commissar of the National Defense University of China.
According to the official website of the Chinese Embassy in North Korea, the Chinese Embassy in North Korea held a reception last Saturday (October 25) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers Army's entry into Korea to resist US aggression and aid Korea. More than 140 people attended, including a PLA delegation led by Xia Zhihe, Political Commissar of the National Defense University, as well as veteran volunteer soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and a delegation of officials from central government agencies to pay respects.
Hong Kong media outlet Sing Tao Headline Net reported that this indicates Xia Zhihe has already succeeded Zhong Shaojun as Political Commissar of the National Defense University.
According to Sing Tao Headline Net, Zhong Shaojun previously served as Director of the General Office of the Central Military Commission. Last year, he was transferred to become the Political Commissar of the National Defense University. He is also a member of the 20th Central Committee.
The report said that Zhong Shaojun recently attended the Fourth Plenary Session, but his current work arrangement is not yet clear.
