The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has barred Chinese nationals holding U.S. visas from participating in the agency’s projects.
According to a Bloomberg report, informed sources revealed that NASA has prohibited Chinese nationals holding U.S. visas from participating in its programs.
NASA spokesperson Stevens confirmed the agency’s related measures. Stevens stated: “NASA has taken internal actions regarding Chinese nationals, including restricting their access to our facilities, materials, and cyberspace, in order to safeguard the security of our operations.”
Although NASA has always had certain restrictions regarding employing Chinese nationals, in the past, Chinese nationals holding U.S. visas could still participate in NASA research as contractors, graduate students, or university scientists.
Sources disclosed that since September 5, Chinese nationals who had originally worked at NASA have been prohibited from accessing the agency’s information systems and from participating in work-related meetings, whether in person or online.
