Chinese rapper Wang Yitai's “Love Me Later” world tour landed in Malaysia for the first time on the evening of August 29th. Coinciding with the Qixi Festival (Chinese Valentine’s Day), a romantic scene unfolded during the concert: while he was performing “Don’t Be Afraid to Grow Old,” an audience member suddenly proposed successfully, surprising Wang so much that he exclaimed, “Congratulations! Why didn’t you tell me about such a wonderful thing in advance? I could have invited you on stage!” The venue was instantly filled with a blissful atmosphere.
Greeting in Malay
Wang Yitai kicked off the concert with consecutive performances of “Time To Be A Man,” “Dagger,” and “Rich Forever,” instantly igniting the crowd. He even greeted everyone in Malay: “Apa khabar, terima kasih!” Although he said he hadn’t prepared gifts, he warmly announced that the supporter wristbands, which were originally meant to be collected, would be given to all the fans in the audience, wishing everyone a happy, happy, happy Qixi!
That night, he admitted his voice wasn’t in its best condition: “My throat is a little hoarse.” The fans comforted him in unison, saying “It’s okay,” and enthusiastically sang along to “Everything is Reasonable.” Wang Yitai was deeply moved and responded, “Your passion gives me 100,000% motivation to complete this performance.”
A big surprise of the concert was his good friend Lan Lao appearing as a special guest. When introducing him, Wang Yitai praised, “His monthly listeners on Spotify have surpassed mine, making history.”
In addition, during the fan message reading session, Wang Yitai noticed that quite a few fans had written their WeChat IDs and phone numbers directly on the outside of the envelopes, causing him to exclaim, “Is it really that direct?” sparking laughter throughout the crowd. After learning this was a request from the organizer, he smiled and said it was all a “misunderstanding.”
