(Kuala Lumpur, 28th) – After serving a 6-year term, HWA ZONG President Tan Sri Wu Tien Chuan said he has no regrets about his past six years, and called on the new leadership to cherish HWA ZONG, making all decisions with HWA ZONG’s interests in mind, rather than personal gains.
In his speech at the HWA ZONG 2025 National Member Representative Conference today (28th), he recounted the challenges he faced as President, including difficulties in obtaining the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) for the HWA ZONG building, due to procedural obstacles and some individuals intentionally causing delays.
He noted that since the third floor was rented out to a school and the auditorium was set up on the 11th floor, they encountered difficulties in applying for the certificate.
“We went through the procedure step by step, with the help of state and national representatives and relevant parties. In the end, we finally obtained the CCC just recently.”
“During the process, there were some malicious individuals who deliberately made things difficult for us, hoping we wouldn't obtain the CCC before today, but only afterwards.”
He said the incident pained him and emphasized that the HWA ZONG building belongs to all Chinese Malaysians, and hoped the future leaders would continue to cultivate, protect, and cherish the HWA ZONG building.

Wu Tien Chuan also mentioned that during the election period, a Facebook page called 'Information Station' appeared and demonized HWA ZONG.
However, he stressed that there is no crisis within HWA ZONG, the financial status is sound, and the transparency of financial reports will be evident at the conference.
“I know there are people with their own agenda who falsely accuse us, and in fact, they are all our former staff.”
“The administration, President, and Secretary General – we all kept the peace and said nothing. Today, as we walk the path of the Chinese organizations, I have come from Sabah to HWA ZONG, and I am about to retire. I believe I have already done everything I should, and never did anything I shouldn’t.”
He clarified that he has no relation to the Luzhou Laojiao showroom on the ground floor of the HWA ZONG building: the party rents the space as a showroom for RM5,000 per month, which is a part of HWA ZONG’s continuous income.
“This showroom does not belong to Wu Tien Chuan, so don’t believe the rumors. For every banquet, Luzhou Laojiao provides sponsorship. There is no such thing as taking a 10% commission. Yes, I drink for free, but at the banquets, you all also drink for free.”
“Let all this become the past. I hope the new leadership will continue to manage HWA ZONG and the building well, so that there will be a brighter future ahead.”
