Even Hong Kong Celebrities' Luxury Homes Can't Escape Typhoon Damage - Using Basins to Catch Leaks at the Window

Super Typhoon Saola hit Hong Kong hard, bringing frequent gusty winds, torrential rain, and thunderstorms. Many areas also experienced waves and seawater flooding. On the 24th, 2003 Miss Hong Kong Champion Mandy Cho shared her family's water leakage situation on her Instagram Stories.
 From her photos, you can see that during the fierce storm, rainwater surged in from gaps by the window. Even though she had already stuffed towels into the window crevices, there was still dripping water and she could only use a basin to collect it.
 Mandy Cho won five titles in the 2003 Miss Hong Kong pageant. In 2010, she married her boyfriend of five years, financial talent Jacky Cheung. The couple has two sons and a daughter, and the family of five lives in a duplex luxury residence in Mid-Levels. The apartment is located on a very high floor; the living and dining spaces are very spacious, offering a clear view of Victoria Harbour and the surrounding hills. In the background audio, you can hear his wife Shiga Lin also on hand to help. However, in the end, they still couldn’t withstand the wild wind and rain. Two hours later, Carlos Chan posted another update showing the latest situation: water continuously surged in through window gaps, turning his home into an indoor 'fountain.' Carlos hurriedly stuffed towels and plastic bags into the cracks, also placing a bucket nearby just in case, but the water level kept rising. The scene was rather chaotic, and he helplessly wrote: “Can’t hold it.”
