An American couple was found dead, tightly embracing each other in a hotel room, leaving behind a suicide note.
According to Thai media outlet "Amarin TV", the incident occurred in a hotel room in Jomtien, Pattaya, Thailand, and was discovered by hotel staff on March 31.
Because there was a foul smell coming from the room and no response after knocking on the door, hotel staff opened the door to check, thus uncovering the tragedy.
The male deceased has been identified as 85-year-old Richard Carr, and the female deceased as 65-year-old Kelly Marie, both American citizens. According to hotel staff, the couple had not been seen for 4 to 5 days.
Investigators entering the room found the man and woman collapsed on the floor with their arms tightly wrapped around each other. Preliminary estimates suggest they had been dead for over 3 days.

Investigators also found numerous medical items at the scene, as well as an English-written letter believed to be a suicide note left by the couple.
Hotel staff revealed that the couple had not been seen for 4 to 5 days and had been staying at the hotel for about a month. They suffered from health issues before their deaths.
Additionally, police found scattered medication near the bodies and suspect that the couple may have ended their lives by taking drugs, though the exact cause of death awaits confirmation after an autopsy.
