The long-running Chinese variety show “Keep Running” has started filming its 14th season. On the 26th, the show's cast dined at a restaurant in Haikou, unexpectedly sparking controversy. Some netizens pointed out that the restaurant kept leftover food eaten by the celebrities overnight, leaving the table covered in bugs, and expressed strong disgust. In response, the restaurant quickly issued an apology statement.

On the 27th, a netizen visited a certain teahouse and was surprised to see a VIP table cordoned off. At first, they thought it was being reserved for guests, but upon approaching, discovered it was actually the leftovers from the “Keep Running” cast members. The original poster remarked helplessly that the restaurant’s intention might have been to let fans check in for photos, but the thought of food left out overnight, now swarming with bugs, made them instantly feel sick. The post quickly drew comments from others echoing, “That’s so gross.”
Netizens discovered that the restaurant actually kept the leftovers eaten by the cast of ‘Keep Running’ for check-in purposes.
In response, on the 27th, the restaurant stated they admitted that, after the show’s filming concluded, the branch had inappropriately kept the celebrities’ leftovers. “We sincerely apologize! We have already carried out a thorough cleaning and disinfection, and have seriously criticized and educated the staff involved.” They promised to strive for improvement in the future to prevent similar hygiene issues from happening again.
