Taiwanese star Yo Sheng (real name: Wang Yo Sheng) was accused of overstepping boundaries with a female assistant during a ride home in 2016, involving actions such as straddling, groping, ear licking, and forced kissing. He was prosecuted by the prosecutor for forcible indecency and was sentenced to 8 months in prison, suspended for 5 years, with a fine of 2 million New Taiwan Dollars (approximately 270,000 Malaysian Ringgit) by the end of last December. After remaining silent for 22 months, Yo Sheng relaunched his YouTube channel on the 7th, announcing his comeback high-profile. However, within 5 days of resurfacing, he faced overwhelming public backlash. Facing continuous waves of criticism, he and his wife were both found to have quietly removed their posts, images, and videos by the 12th. On the 13th, the full text of Yo Sheng's verdict was made public, fully exposing his misconduct, including the most outrageous part: the 'proposed answer' electronic document intended for colluding evidence.
According to the verdict, before the trial of the sexual autonomy infringement case at the Taipei District Court on March 26, 2024, the defendant Yo Sheng contacted C, who is both a witness and the victim (former assistant of Yo Sheng), to discuss the case and sent her two electronic documents. These were provided by the defendant's lawyer and included proposed questions and 'answers' for the court, as well as a settlement document based on the condition of the defendant Yo Sheng's innocence.
The verdict also pointed out that when comparing the proposed question and 'answer' document with C's testimony during the investigation, discrepancies and deviations from the original testimony were found, not to mention that it's all based on the premise of the defendant's innocence. Thus, the judge concluded that the defendant Yo Sheng attempted to collude evidence, with a clear intention to escape guilt.
